About the District Social Audit Unit
The District Social Audit Unit (DSAU), Purba Medinipur has been sincerely engaged in Social Audit activities for many years with dedication, transparency and accountability.
The Unit has been continuously conducting Social Audits across various Government schemes and programmes, with the objective of ensuring transparency in the implementation of public welfare schemes, strengthening the role of Gram Sabhas, creating awareness among beneficiaries and identifying irregularities, grievances and gaps in implementation wherever necessary.
Through its activities, the District Social Audit Unit strives to promote social accountability, transparency, public participation and responsible implementation of Government programmes at the grassroots level.

Key Areas of Work
The District Social Audit Unit undertakes activities including:
- Conducting Social Audits of Government schemes and programmes.
- Facilitating public participation and strengthening Gram Sabha processes.
- Creating awareness among beneficiaries regarding their rights and entitlements.
- Verification of records and implementation of Government schemes at the grassroots level.
- Identification and reporting of irregularities, deficiencies and grievances.
- Promoting transparency and accountability in public expenditure and programme implementation.
- Supporting appropriate follow-up and action on Social Audit findings.
